Ok, i'm having issues with my video display.

images of any kind are blurry, they have background cloudiness, edges are fuzzy.

this is happening on buttons, too, on web pages, making some of them unreadable.

i don know what! seems jpg images may be being hurt... but i'm not sure.

i was a programmer by trade. i tried tuning off 'smrt image dithering' in internet options... but this happen in appaently any viewer.

paint seems okay when i paste a clipboard to it... say an equation cut from mathcad that i copy to a website to link to another forum... but for me, those have background cloudiness too. they should be pure whte with crisp delineation edges.

i dont know what is the matter. i DID download from microsoft update 2 drivers for chipset updates in video, but i dont see that i can roll back anything. i do not know if that caused the problem or if the problem existed before that.

i have no idea what to do. this forum looks crisp while i type it. the lettering on the buttons above are crisp.

was there some sort of 'enhancement' for LCD displays in thre that i dont want on my CRT?

i suppose my wonderings arent going to help, just the data. i only see this on displayed images, and i notice it happens on buttons to click on web pages. i believe i am aware buttons can have pictures from a little VB programming.

is there anything a quarkgeek can tweak?

I remember there is an option that you want to turn off if you're using a LCD. It was something like sharpening or something I don't really remember. That might have something to do with it. And I think you would have more luck if you posted this in the hardware forum instead.

It seems that the MSN connection center accelerator isnt a file download accelerator, it is a web page display accelerator. it performs this by taking some detail out of images displayed so they load faster. I found it by accident reading some help panels. turning it to normal seems to have cleared it up.
