For thosewho use Norton with Win 7 x64.
Norton Security Suite is in conflict with system restore.
To avoid this, open Norton ,click settings and uncheck Norton tamper protection. This will allow you to perform a sucessful system restore and then recheck Norton system protection.

    Hi Peter

Great heads up on this issues with Sys Restore and Norton Security Suite, but what version of Security Suite are you using and do also if not already feed this back to the Norton folk.

Actually this was pointed out in Micromart a few weeks ago, by one of their geeks, so I would think it should have been reported to Norton by now, but worth the nudge to all for majorgeeks- as I had this question for one of my silver surfers, and you have reminded me

Norton Security Suite 4.3.0.5, free to Comcast subscribers.
I missed any alerts and had to dig it out the hard wayrolleyes.
I will pass this along to the Norton community and to Norton.
