I have a problem with world of warcraft exe file.
When norton (2008) WORM protection is active, the game start but when i exit and i try to play again, cant. And wow.exe become a "white" file, innacesible, unmovable etc. So in safe mode in wow.exe file proprieties i accesed Security tab and i made a copy. I can start the game only using this copy after im deleting with a special program the "corrupted" file.
I DONT HAVE viruses, spywares... I added wow.exe to exclusions in worm protection and i blocked all ip adreseses and sites who appear in log when wow start (like google-analytics.com and view.atdmt.com, wich probably was safe conections - i know atdmt.com is dangerous but not in my pc and i repeat, im clean, scanned with all stuff)

but with norton worm protection disabled wow.exe isnt messed up and i can play
So what i can do to play with worm protection up??

In "alerts" tab in norton i see rarelly, sometimes, a massage like this:
    Event Details:
    Actor: D:\WINDOWS\EXPLORER.EXE (PID=244)
    Target: D:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\CCSVCHST.EXE
    Action: Unauthorized access
    Reaction: Unauthorized access stopped
Is norton corupted and this is the cause? i dont think so...

I did not istalled a program who can cause this problem last days, the last thing i remember is i installed norton 2 days ago, he ask first time usually if a exe file can acces network and probably he asked for WOW too but i didnt saw the window because game is full screen. But then how i played 2 days ok, after norton instalation?

    Hi

Not a Norton expert but looking over the posts from the Blizzard techs on the forum, it seems to be an issue with the older versions of Norton and they dont have a fix as far as I can see for it apart from whats posted HERE

What Windows version you using and Service Pack?
