I've been working on this for nearly 2 months and I still cannot get my XP desktop to connect to a Belgacom B-Box router using wireless adapters. The desktop is a Vaio VGC-RC210G. I've tried using two seperate G and N adapters and, even with clean smooth installs, both cannot detect any signal coming from the router. It has detected, however, a neighbors signal at like 2% though. My Vista laptop connected just fine: It has a built in Intel WiFi Link 5100 AGN. What am I missing here?

    Thanks

P.S. I'm really needing this fixed by Mon.

What software are you using, that supplied with the adapters, or Windows Wireless Zero Config?

Another possibility - could the router's wireless have been accidentally turned off? It's a good idea when faced with wifi problems, to connect by Ethernet while sorting it out.

I have a Linksys G wireless adapter and a Netgear N adapter. Both use they're own software. I've even tried updated drivers, still nothing. The Router's wireless is on, I know because my laptop is using it right now.

Have you tried uninstalling/disabling the netgear wifi software and using the windows networking to detect?

I often find that does the trick.

Then you should give Windows Wireless Zero Config a try. If you don't know how Start > Run > type services.msc > OK. Scroll down to the Wireless Zero service, double click it, change the startup to Automatic, click Start and close out.

It is often the best way to operate a wireless adapter.

Not working. Still says nothing in range.
