in a loop with partitionmagic8

I am trying to resize my partitions on the C drive. Parition runs after restart. I get an error message -- Error 27 Cannot lock drive. I reboot and it comes up again. I reboot and hit any key to abort. It comes up again. This just goes on and on. How can I get out of this??

Boot up the PM8 CD. Resize your drive in there. If no luck, boot up windows, tap F8 at boot, select safe mode, log in as admin, cancel the resizing in PM8. If none exists, go start, run, msconfig, look for a PM8 entry on one of the tabs.

 

I boot up and tap the F8 key and choose safe mode and a screen comes up with quite a few of these lines. This is the bottom line

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\windows\system32\drivers\mup.sys

Now what do I do?

It's not done loading, is it? Wait for 10 mins tops.
