In net stewart si-70027

Greetings and well met!

Here's some background history, to see if that helps any..

Well, recently my boyfriend bought a computer from a friend who does custom builds. Since then, we've had a lot of problems out of it - one was that the computer kept restarting no matter what we did to fix it. Well, we took it to a tech support place, and they fixed it...for $50.00. Well, now times are tough and I'd like to see if I can fix this myself this time.

The other day he went to a website, and suddenly a notification popped up that he had to verify his Windows XP serial number. Now, the person we had bought the computer from had given us a serial code, but it didn't work. So, he went to his step dad, who had a legit copy of XP, and under his stepdads instruction, reinstalled Windows.

The problem:

Now, he has re-installed windows, but cannot access the internet because his PCI card, an Innet Stewart si-70027 no longer has drivers. I have searched all over the net, and cannot find this particular driver.

Any help would be so appreciated. Here's a cookie! *hands a cookie to techies!*

EDIT: Oh, and I think I should mention, when he right clicks on the Ethernet controller, it comes up "Device Unknown". We can't even get information on what kind of card it may be.

if the pci card is the only one not working install the one for the nic.

That didn't work, sadly.

So, I used the great and mighty tool - GOOGLE, and came up with the site to download Dell drivers. (I didn't know he had a dell, go fig)

And what do ya know, presto. I can post a link, if desired, of where I got it from.

Also, now on my agenda - Upgrade from SP1 to SP2.
