Incorrect colours Windows Live Photo Gallery

    Recently, I have noticed that the colours in my photos have changed slightly e.g. browns are pink, cyans are green.
    This is only occurring in Windows Live Photo Gallery and Adobe Elements 10     and strangely enough only when the photos are 'opened' in other words the thumnails are ok.
    The fault does not occur in other packages like Paint, Quicktime, Windows Live Movie Maker, Photomatix and others.
    The photos are also ok when used as Desktop Background.

    Any ideas?
