Whenever i try to access my CD rom drive i get "Incorrect Function"
I looked it up at microsoft here: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;315350

But i do not have the software Roxio or easy CD creator, i do not understand the problem, any help would be appreciated.

P.S. My desktop computer is a Sony Vaio

On that same link you gave you can check the vendor of the Recording software you DO have.
I would see if it's listed as it may not be compatible with XP.

    Hopefully it will help.

that's a lot of names, so the best thing for me to do, would be go through each of those, and see if one of my software starts with that name? Is there any other solution that might help?
Well i appreciate you looking into this for me, and if that is my only solution, i will get on it.

Right-Click on the drive and select Properties / Recording Tab and then check the "Enable CD Recording On This Drive" box.
