I've been trying to get to my Hotmail account. I don't know if this been happening to anyone else, but when I try to log on, in the address bar, it always puts this for an example...

    https://msn.login.blah/dinlkdn/

the "s" in front of the http: messes this up, I dont know how to get rid of it, I tried just deleting it and then trying to reload, but it says Page has expired. Anyone?

"https:" is secure http or encrypted http. Your browse should be able to handle it just fine. However, assuming you are correct and your browser is having problems with encrypted pages....

It may be that your browser hasn't got the correct encryption, or the encryption was diabled somehow. Go to Help/About in IE. It should say "Cipher strength: 128-bit". If it doesn't, you might have to reinstall the high encryption pack HERE.

If that doesn't work (but you don't have 128-bit cipher strength) you might need to reinstall IE itself. In that case, just download it again from HERE.

You also might check Tools/Internet Options/Advanced tab. Scroll down to security, and make sure SSL 2.0 and SSL 3.0 are checked.

If you DO have 128-bit cipher strength, then you should check your security settings. Go to Tools/Internet Options/Security tab in IE. I'm not sure what you need to change off-hand, but try setting Internet to Medium. Also check your Trusted and Restricted site security levels. You probably don't have any sites defined there, so this is probably not the issue.

Similarly, you can check the Tools/Internet Options/Privacy tab in IE. If your privacy settings are extremely high (High or Block All), you might be interfering with the website's normal functioning.

I've heard similar problems with secure web sites. In one case, the individual's ISP was to blame for blocking secure sites or something... If chicken's advice doesn't fix the problem, I wouldn't rule out that it could be your ISP.
