After battling with Incredimail trying to uninstall it ( don't get me wrong, the program is basically okay and fun to use ) due to the fact that it "crashed" on starting every time, it is one hell of a job trying to delete all traces of it.
Just running uninstall does not get rid of it - there are still hundreds if not thousands of entries in the registry that refer to Incredimail. After I managed to get rid of all the "Incredimail" references in the registry - and this after supposedly uninstalling the program - there were still around 300 registry references for "Incredi" - which also are for the program and which also I deleted. But lo and behold, Incredimail references in the registry are not limited to just Incredimail and Incredi - theses things also start with "IM" as well. Now after searching the registry for IM referances and having found almost 15000 (!!) - not all for Incredimail i might add - I kind of gave up.

It would seem that the only way to completely get every Incredimail refererance out of the system is to do either system restore to the point before it was installed in the first place or failing that, a totally new installation of the OS ( in my case XP pro ) which will give u a registry clean of Incredimail.

If any one else has any better solutions kindly ease all of us of our Incredimail whoes......

    Try registry cleaning softwares.
Invalid keys will be deleted by it.

Must have tried 4 or 5 registry cleaning utilities........none of them touched at all any of the "Incredi" or "IM" references.....only the "incredimail" references were found and then not all of them............

Most softwares leave a lot of reg values even after they are
uninstalled.Even reg cleaners might not get them all.
This is something we have to ignore as we cant do much about it.
So dont get obsessed about tiny matters. If the program has spywares
run a scan.As long as it doesnt hurt you.
    You are fine.

:p I did the same thing myself, that is made the mistake of downloading incredimail. The IM file you were talking about? I found it in my computer almost a month later, after I had uninstalled the program, and did a search of my system to delete all remaining file folders from their program. I didn't know what it was at first, so opened it and found some animated programs, sound bits, and thumbnail prints. I kept it and will be hacking parts of it to other systems as I learn how to do more with them. THe way I see it, anything THEY leave behind after uninstall in MY computer is Mine by default, and I will use it the way I see fit. Their copyright ceases to exist after I initiate the uninstall program, anything left behind is up for grabs. That ought to make some publishers think a little. Make the best of what they left you. I hacked a sound bit from their program onto my welcome screen.

 I forgot, I did a lot of erasing by hand, so to speak, and you should do a search of your files for "icons" in the text, that brought up some more from my computer even though I didn't do it for that purpose. You could try other words like "mail" and "messenger" though I haven't done those two yet myself. It brings up a lot more than the incredimail stuff, but if you have the patience to open evey one of them for inspection, you will find more incredimail files, I know for a fact, because I did too. Leave file names blank, the system will search every word on the harddrive.
