Independent Evaluation/s Of Windows 'updates' ?

Best place/s (besides microsoft.com) to get an independent opinion re windows updates... ie so not getting ongoing popup sales pitches for update (like to W10 etc) to this or that, etc ?
One place looked at was forums.overclockers.com.au, any idea if that is a good place... or other ?

Thoughts ?

 

AskWoody is pretty good, Woody's been trying to keep tabs on Windows/MS updates for a very long time.

Not all that simple to use... ie tried to find something on update KB890830, but putting it in the search box didnt get anything related that I could see.
Would be nice if a site had simply a list of updates with accompanying comments... could almost be like a forum topic with a post/comments for each update.
