My computer started freezing about 45 seconds after start up whenever i turned it on in normal mode a while ago. I have been using safe mode with networking. I ran everything in read and run me first except Super Anti Spyware, which won't install, instead it shows an error message: "the system administrator has set policies to prevent this installation". Also the java runtime environments that i have in the add or remove programs won't uninstall, maybe it's because i'm in safe mode, but i've followed everything else on the list. I am running Windows XP media center edition. The computer is still infected. I ran a panda scan on it and found 200 infections but it froze up before i could do anything about them. I'm not exactly sure exactly why the problems started. The computer started freezing after startup around the beginning of this year and i sent it to a guy who would try to fix it for free, he spent a long time with it and could not fix it. The problems are probably at least a couple of months old. Maybe someone can find something in my logs. Help would be greatly appreciated!

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

These were probably nothing of concern. Most likely cookies or other non-issues. Your logs are all clean. You will probably have to work this in the Software Forum because we are too busy here for non-malware issues. But here is where I suggest you started:

Uninstall all of the below if you can:
    a-squared Anti-Malware 3.0
    Viewpoint Manager (Remove Only)
    Viewpoint Media Player
    Viewpoint Toolbar

Now run the below then reboot. After reboot run it one more time.

    Norton Removal Tool (SymNRT)

Did any of this help? If not, check your Event Viewer logs and post in the Software Forum.
