    Hi,

    I've read the Read Me First removal instructions here followed the guidelines and now I'm hoping someone can help me remove a virus.

    Security Essentials tells me I've been infected with Orsam!rts but isn't able to remove it.

    Here's the rest of the info from Security Essentials:

    C:\Windows\Temp\avkC5CF.tmp
    C:\Windows\Temp\tmp000058ce\tmp00009151
    C:\Windows\Temp\_avast4_\unp36880635.tmp

    I have Windows 7 on a fairly new machine. I downloaded G Data hoping it would find and remove it, but it hasn't.

    Please tell me what else you need to know.

    I have the following installed on my computer:

    Spybot
    Malwarebytes
    SuperAntispyware
    HiJackThis
    G Data
    CC Cleaner

    Obviously, I won't access any sensitive information while I have this so it's really a pain.

    Can anyone offer any help? Thank you.

    I can only assist you when you attach logs for my reviewal. :) Which you should have if you have run the R&R...

    I completely missed the last item since I have Windows 7 and didn't see it in blue.
    I only have 2 files to attach though since I have 64 bit so didn't run some of the programs as advised and I'm unable to run Malwarebytes. Probably because of my virus.
    I understand if you can't do anything with just the 2 files but if you can, it would be a great help.

    I know my only option may be to reformat.

    Thanks!

    I don't think anything that drastic is needed.

    Use windows explorer to delete these folders from avast, avg and zone alarm.

    • C:\ProgramData\Alwil Software
    • C:\ProgramData\avg9
    • C:\ProgramData\CheckPoint

    Now go to VirusTotal and upload the following files for analysis, report back to me the results.

    • C:\Windows\Xó¡

    Could you please get this: Xó¡ into a zipped file and attach it for me in your next post? To do this, see the below:

    Please go to start > Run and paste in the following:

    log retrievable @ C:\collect.zip

    Download and run OTM.

    Download OTM by Old Timer and save it to your Desktop.

    Code:
    :Files
    C:\Users\Me\Local Settings\TEMP\01CB5602A0DE2ED6
    C:\Users\Me\Local Settings\TEMP\fla2D3F.tmp
    C:\Users\Me\Local Settings\TEMP\is2D85.tmp
    C:\Users\Me\Local Settings\TEMP\is931B.tmp
    C:\Users\Me\Local Settings\TEMP\Log
    C:\Users\Me\Local Settings\TEMP\_avast5_
    C:\Users\Me\Local Settings\TEMP\{2168F23E-5F3E-4CF5-B364-67114126FE0F}
    C:\Users\Me\Local Settings\TEMP\{B984FE7E-1512-4B46-9B4D-048EA232E450}
    C:\Users\Me\Local Settings\TEMP\{BAE33EFD-46A1-4894-B16F-A0953C03E302}
    C:\Users\Me\Local Settings\TEMP\{D9D20357-FE12-4083-97C0-9A037AA6EEAD}

    :Commands
    [emptytemp]
    [Reboot]
    • Return to OTM, right click in the Paste List of Files/Folders to Move window (under the yellow bar) and choose Paste.
    • Push the large http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2782/4174320048_f01c448b32_o.png button.
    • OTM may ask to reboot the machine. Please do so if asked.
    • Copy everything in the Results window (under the green bar), and paste it into notepad, save it as something appropriate and attach it into your next reply.

    NOTE: If you are unable to copy/paste from this window (as will be the case if the machine was rebooted), open Notepad (Start->All Programs->Accessories->Notepad), click File->Open, in the File Name box enter *.log and press the Enter key, navigate to the C:\_OTM\MovedFiles folder, and open the newest .log file present, and attach the contents of that document back here in your next post.

    Navigate to C:\MGTools\analyse.exe right click and run as administrator, do a system scan only and save a log file, attach this log into your next reply.

    Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it. Then attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip file that will be created by running this.

    Don't forget the HJT log from running analyse.exe and also the log from OTM and the VirusTotal results.

    Let me know how your machine is running now?
