Infected

I believe I have been infected by a Malware, I just can't figure which one or how to get rid of it.

I think it has been on my computer for a few days now. It mostly affects my mouse controls. I don't remember doing anything in particular and at first I was not even sure of what it was. I was playing on video games and had the weird feeling that I was not doing exactly what I was supposed to do.

For a couple days it was just things like, when playing a fps game, firing once in a while when I didn't think I had, or being unable to scope/unscope right away..

Then it became more than problems with clicking or not clicking, the computer was acting like if I had scrolled even though I didn't touch the button, or there were eratic movements from the mouse on the screen when I didn't even touch the mouse itself... It became more and more often.

And now windows are bugging too. I can't click on/in them it just doesn't do anything, unless I alt tab to change window, come back to the first one and then I can click. But as soon as I do something or open a new folder I need to switch windows again to be able to interact. Same thing in the internet explorer window I need to alt tab and come back to it to click on each link... The mouse keeps doing movements it should not do from time to time.

I did an antivirus scan (Avira Antivir) and a spybot scan... Didn't solve much. Then I went through your whole "Cleaning Procedure" but the problem is still there.

Here are all the logs from the scans I did during the cleaning procedure:

And there goes the last one.

Thanks a lot for anything you could do to help me,
    Looking forward to your answer

What do you know about this file?
    And this folder?

Please disable all anti-virus and anti-spyware programs while we do the following (re-enable when you are finished):

Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator). This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:
    • O2 - BHO: (no name) - {5C255C8A-E604-49b4-9D64-90988571CECB} - (no file)
    • O15 - Trusted Zone: *.chat-land.org

    After clicking Fix exit HJT.

Now we need to use ComboFix
    • Make sure that combofix.exe that you downloaded while doing the READ & RUN ME is on your Desktop but Do not run it!
      • If it is not on your Desktop, the below will not work.
    • Also make sure you have shut down all protection software (antivirus, antispyware...etc) or they may get in the way of allowing ComboFix to run properly.
    • If ComboFix tells you it needs to update to a new version, make sure you allow it to update.
    • Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in the below quote box. Ensure you scroll down to select ALL the lines:
    Code:
    KILLALL::

    Driver::
    oflpydin

    File::
    c:\docume~1\ADMINI~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\oflpydin.sys
    C:\Documents and Settings\Administrateur\errorlog.tmp
    C:\Documents and Settings\Administrateur\temp1.1
    C:\Documents and Settings\Administrateur\temp1.2
    C:\Documents and Settings\Administrateur\temp1.3
    C:\Documents and Settings\Administrateur\temp1.4
    C:\Documents and Settings\Administrateur\temps1
    C:\Documents and Settings\Administrateur\temps11
    C:\Documents and Settings\Administrateur\temps12

    FileLook::
    C:\Documents and Settings\Administrateur\lanshow.vbs

    DirLook::
    C:\Documents and Settings\Administrateur\Application Data\wam.04351C371E530C3762CBA45FA283ED972DCDEFB6.1

    Registry::
    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\{5C255C8A-E604-49b4-9D64-90988571CECB}]

    • Save the above as CFscript.txt and make sure you save it to the same location (should be on your Desktop) as ComboFix.exe
    • At this point, you MUST EXIT ALL BROWSERS NOW before continuing!
    • You should have both the ComboFix.exe and CFScript.txt icons on your Desktop.
    • Now use your mouse to drag CFscript.txt on top of ComboFix.exe

      http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v666/sUBs/CFScriptB-4.gif

    • Follow the prompts.
    • When it finishes, a log will be produced named c:\combofix.txt
    • I will ask for this log below

    Note:

Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

    Run Ccleaner.

Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it. Then attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip file that will be created by running this.

Also address any questions that I asked you, please.

How is the machine running now?

    I am now to:

<<Now use your mouse to drag CFscript.txt on top of ComboFix.exe>>

But the malware affecting my mouse controls doesn't allow me to drag files or folders. I can click on them, drag them but when I release, it's like nothing is happening. The file stays on the same spot, and I can't put CFscript.txt on top of ComboFix.exe

    What should I do? :confused

    ---------

I don't know anything about this file.

"Wam" reminds me of "Winamax", an online poker room. I've been playing on it for a long time, but I've just had to install the French version of this lobby a couple weeks ago since poker legislation in France has just been reformed.

As this folder has been created on the same day, I would say it is probably related to this software.
Is there something wrong with this folder?

    C:\Documents and Settings\Administrateur\lanshow.vbs <--- delete this.

Now download The Avenger by Swandog469, and save it to your Desktop.

    • Extract avenger.exe from the Zip file and save it to your desktop
    • Run avenger.exe by double-clicking on it.
    • Do not change any check box options!!
    • Copy everything in the Quote box below, and paste it into the Input script here: part of the window:
    • Now click the Execute button.
    • Click Yes to the prompt to confirm you want to execute.
    • Click Yes to the Reboot now? question that will appear when Avenger finishes running.
    • Your PC should reboot, if not, reboot it yourself.
    • A log file from Avenger will be produced at C:\avenger.txt and it will popup for you to view when you login after reboot.

No nothing wrong with below folder, I was just curious.
    C:\Documents and Settings\Administrateur\Application Data\wam.04351C371E530C3762CBA45FA283ED972DCDEFB6.1

Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it. Then attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip file that will be created by running this.

For some reason, my computer seems to have rebooted twice when "the avenger" was over. So the logs didn't show up by themselves, but here they are.
As well as the MGtools\Getlogs.bat logs.

I don't control the random moves of my mouse yet though.

Thanks a lot for helping me!

Oops, seems like the logs didn't upload.
    There we go

I don't know if the problems you are experiencing with your mouse are related to malware or not. Let's just give combofix one more run. No need to run a script considering you cannot, so just double click it to run, and attach the C:\combofix.txt into your next response here.

Besides the mouse, any other strange symptoms that may indicate malware's presence?

Well things seem to be a lot better yes.

I don't have the windows' problems I used to have when windows were freezing forcing me to Alt tab and come back to them to make them work.

I can now "drag" files and folders... well it seems fine.

The only things weird left are Firefox that isn't working. But I think just uninstall/reinstall will do.
    And the mouse things.

I actually believe it is related, because it started about the same day, and occured more and more often when my windows problems got worse.
Besides, I've tried this mouse on another computer, as well as 3 other mouses. And they all work perfectly on the other one, and all have problems on this one.

But since I've ran combofix the mouse has been fine so far.

    here is the combofix log:

    Attached Files:

    • log.txt
      File size:
      21.4 KB
      Views:

And as I just send this message...

My mouse scrolled down the page and randomly clicked everywhere... And everything is back. I cannot drag anymore, windows problems are back, and avira is telling me that there is Trojan in MGtools.exe :cry

I don't get that, it was working perfectly fine for like 10 minutes after combofix rebooted my computer! :confused

Well I am not seeing any malware in those logs now. The detection of MGTools.exe is a false positive. ;)

Do visit the software forum for advice on any remaining issues, also use another mouse to see how that behaves. Other than that, no idea, but your logs look good to me.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no protection. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /uninstall
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /uninstall, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.
    3. Go back to step 6 of the READ ME and renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it.
    4. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    5. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    6. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    7. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    8. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders
related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    9. If you are running Win 7, Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning procedures pointed to by step 7 of the READ ME
for your Window version and see the instructions to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    10. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
