    Hello,
    A week ago I suddenly got a lot of warnings for fake virusses from fake virusscanners (antimalware doctor for example).
    I don't know how they got there, and why my AVG did not stop these things, but it happened.
    Actions taken since then:

    Full scan with AVG: no results
    A few scans with Malwarebytes Anti-malware over the week, all removing 2-14 stuff called dangerous
    I removed AVG and have installed avira, which has also done a full scan

    I manually deleted anything that was created on the date my computer got infected, I had to reregister winXP, I used to have errors and crashes from svchost, and right now the only two things that seem to be a problem: Unusually slow and often quitting internet connection, webpage to random sites that I do not know that open all of a sudden.

    Thanks to your guide I have run the next:

    Superantispyware: see attachment
    Malwarebytes antimalware: see attachment
    Combofix, in the last phase:"preparing log report", I ran it twice, but when this took over 2 hours, I shut down the computer. There is no log.
    Rootrepeal found nothing, no hidden files, the log is empty
    MGtools logs are in the attachments

    What do I have to do to get this computer clean? This week has been a horror for me :(

    Please make sure you have disabled your disc emulation software. Also make sure that msconfig is in normal startup.

    Now download The Avenger by Swandog469, and save it to your Desktop.

    * Extract+ avenger.exe from the Zip file and save it to your desktop

    Please disable all anti-virus and anti-spyware programs while we do the following (re-enable when you are finished):

    Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator). This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:
    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

    Now copy just the bold text below to notepad (Do not include any space above the word REGEDIT). Save it as fixME.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.
    Make sure that you tell me if you receive a success message about adding the above
    to the registry. If you do not get a success message, it definitely did not work.

    * Run avenger.exe by double-clicking on it.
    * -Do not change any check box options!!
    * Copy everything in the Quote box below, and paste it into the Input script here: part of the window:

    * Now click the Execute button.
    * Click Yes to the prompt to confirm you want to execute.
    * Click Yes to the Reboot now? question that will appear when Avenger finishes running.
    * Your PC should reboot, if not, reboot it yourself.
    * A log file from Avenger will be produced at C:\avenger.txt and it will popup for you to view when you login after reboot.

    Now run Ccleaner to clean out only temp files and nothing else!

    Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).

    Then attach the below logs:

    * C:\Avenger.txt
    * C:\MGlogs.zip

    Make sure you tell me how things are working now!

    Hi,
    Thanks for your quick reply!

    I hope you will never force me again to reboot with MSconfig in normal mode, there was an incredible number of software loading, things I did not even know I owned.

    About fixing and deleting things about f.lux: Is there something wrong with f.lux itself, was it infected or did you find it suspicious? Can I reinstall that when I am clean again?
    http://www.stereopsis.com/flux/

    Since I rebooted (after Avanger) I have not noticed any problems with my computer yet :)

    Here are the logs!

    Please disable your disc emulation software as stated in Item #6:
    Otherwise your logs will continue to indicate an MBR infection.

    Please Disable Spybot's TeaTimer --> Should have been done as per the R&R instructions!

    * Run Spybot and click Mode
    * Select Advanced Mode.
    * Then click Tools and select Resident.
    * Now in the right window pane, uncheck TeaTimer.
    * Also while this is open, in the left column now select IE Tweaks
    * and then in the right pane make sure all the Miscellaneous locks are unchecked.
    * Now quit Spybot!

    I also would suggest that you start using a start up manager:
    Startup_CPL

    If you do a search on flux.exe you will see why I asked that it be removed. It is being reported as malware on numerous sites. We can test this when we are sure you are clean.

    Now, I want you to download ComboFix to your desktop, but do not run it.

    * Make sure that combofix.exe that you downloaded while doing the READ & RUN ME is on your Desktop but Do not run it!
    If it is not on your Desktop, the below will not work.
    * Also make sure you have shut down all protection software (antivirus, antispyware...etc) or they may get in the way of allowing ComboFix to run properly.
    * If ComboFix tells you it needs to update to a new version, make sure you allow it to update.
    * Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in the below code box into it (make sure you scroll all the way down in the code box to get all lines selected ):
    Code:
    KILLALL::

    Files::
    C:\Documents and Settings\Daniel\Local Settings\Temp\ermaoxcswn.tmp
    C:\Documents and Settings\Daniel\Local Settings\Temp\ecnwamsorx.tmp
    C:\Documents and Settings\Daniel\Local Settings\temp\tmp67.tmp

    Registry::
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows\currentVersion\Run]
    "HNUfeHXlkc"=-

    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\MSConfig\startupreg\HNUfeHXlotc]

    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\MSConfig\startupreg\HNUfeHXlqc]

    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\MSConfig\startupreg\ecnwamsorx.tmp]

    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\MSConfig\startupreg\HNUfeHXlrxc]

    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\MSConfig\startupreg\lsdefrag]

    * Save the above as CFscript.txt and make sure you save it to the same location (should be on your Desktop) as ComboFix.exe
    * At this point, you MUST EXIT ALL BROWSERS NOW before continuing!
    * You should have both the ComboFix.exe and CFScript.txt icons on your Desktop.
    If it asks you to overide the previous file with the same name, click YES.
    * Now use your mouse to drag CFscript.txt on top of ComboFix.exe
    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v666/sUBs/CFScriptB-4.gif
    * Follow the prompts.
    * When it finishes, a log will be produced named c:\combofix.txt
    * I will ask for this log below

    Note:

    Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

    Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).

    Then attach the below logs:

    * C:\ComboFix.txt
    * C:\MGlogs.zip

    Make sure you tell me how things are working now!

    Hi Tim,
    Thanks for the help again!
    Last time I said that I did not experience any problems, but still every once in a half hour or so a random website opens.
    My virtual drive is always off (deamon tools)
    I have probably installed spybot SD 2 years ago but it is never on, so teatimer is not either.

    Thanks for letting me google flux, it seems that there might indeed be something wrong with it ;)

    Here are the logs!

    Please download the TDSS Rootkit Removing Tool (TDSSKiller.exe) and save it to your Desktop. <-Important!!!

    Be sure to download TDSSKiller.exe (v2.4.0.0) from Kaspersky's website and not TDSSKiller.zip which appears to be an older version 2.3.2.2 of the tool.

    • Double-click on TDSSKiller.exe to run the tool for known TDSS variants.
      Vista/Windows 7 users right-click and select Run As Administrator.
    • If TDSSKiller does not run, try renaming it.
    • To do this, right-click on TDSSKiller.exe, select Rename and give it a random name with the .com file extension (i.e. 123abc.com). If you do not see the file extension, please refer to How to change the file extension.
    • Click the Start Scan button.
    • Do not use the computer during the scan
    • If the scan completes with nothing found, click Close to exit.
    • If malicious objects are found, they will show in the Scan results - Select action for found objects and offer three options.
    • Ensure Cure (default) is selected, then click Continue > Reboot now to finish the cleaning process.
    • A log file named TDSSKiller_version_date_time_log.txt (i.e. TDSSKiller.2.4.0.0_27.07.2010_14.17.05_log.txt) will be created and saved to the root directory ( usually Local Disk C ).
    • Attach this log to your next message

    Do you have your XP cd?

    According to your last Combo log, you have become more infected. Both winlogon and explorer.exe are both infected and you have no backups for those files. The only way we can replace them is by having the XP CD and using the Recovery Console.

    Can you borrow a cd from someone? It has to be the same as what you have installed, either Home or Pro.
