Shutdown all browers!!! And then uninstall the below:

    BearShare
    Browser Manager

After uninstalling open your browser to continue.

Rerun RogueKiller and run a scan. After it finishes the scan, select the Registry tab and then select any of the below that exist and then click the Delete button.

    Then immediately reboot your PC.

Please download Junkware Removal Tool to your desktop.
    • Shut down your protection software now to avoid potential conflicts.
    • Run the tool by double-clicking it. If you are using Windows Vista or Seven, right-mouse click it and select Run as Administrator.
    • The tool will open and start scanning your system.
    • Note: That JRT will reset your home page to a google default so you will need to restore your home page setting.
    • Please be patient as this can take a while to complete depending on your system's specifications.
    • On completion, a log (JRT.txt) is saved to your desktop and will automatically open.
    • Attach JRT.txt to your next message.
After reboot, run a new scan with RogueKiller and save a log as in original instructions and attach the new log.

Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista or Win7, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).

    Then attach the below logs:
    • the JRT.txt log
    • the new RogueKiller log
    • C:\MGlogs.zip

Okay that looks much better. The only things I see remaining is some junk from Ask.com that has been added to Firefox

You may be able to just remove these manually from the addons.

    How are things working?

Firefox is acutally not used on this PC at all. Looking at the add/remove programs it is not installed either. However doing a search for firefox brings up some remaining stuff from a previous uninstall I would guess - should I just delete that stuff or? Not sure what to do as it is not in the uninstall programs.

As for the computer it seems to be running fine - I have not done much with it until I got the go ahead but it seems okay right now.

    Okay then do the below.

Delete the any of the below folder that still exist. I believe the last two are definitely there:
    C:\Program Files\MapsGalaxy_39
    C:\Documents and Settings\scott.MEDIA.000\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla
    C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox

Copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixme.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.
Make sure that you tell me if you receive a success message about adding the above
to the registry. If you do not get a success message, it definitely did not work.

Thank you - I did remove the items listed below and did a search for "firefox" and deleted any other remaining items.

I was not able to find "mapsgalaxy*" just FYI.

Can't thank you enough for all of your help and assistance.

    You're welcome.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware.
    2. Go back to step 4 oof the READ ME and renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it.
    3. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    4. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    5. If running Vista or Win 7, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    6. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    7. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders
related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    8. If you are running Win 7, Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning procedures pointed to by step 6 of the READ ME
for your Window version and see the instructions to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    9. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
