Hi there. I had downloaded what I thought was the game Dopewars from the p2p program eMule. I knew it was a risk to open the keygen located in the zip file, however I figured my ESET NOD32 would pick it up. It didn't, and a little while after running the Keygen.exe file a bogus looking program window, stating itself as being a black box flight recorder [?] or something along those lines opened up, I closed it immediately and my computer restarted itself soon after.

After windows had loaded up, I noticed the programs I have set to start with windows had not loaded, these being uTorrent, Windows Live Messenger, Peerguardian, and ESET NOD32. When trying to manually start Peerguardian and ESET, i would recieve the error message that they are not a valid win32 application. Windows Messenger simply wouldnt open. I tried to run HiJackThis and recieved the 'invalid win32 application' error. After this i tried to restart in safe mode to run ESET, however while booting it would say it couldn't load SPTD.sys.

    I am running Windows XP.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, because I'm not too sure what exactly to try next. Cheers guys.

    Notes:

    1. If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode. You can running steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:
    2. If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools on another PC and burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.
