    Windows XP
The problem started with the typical pop-ups saying that your virus is infected. I had had this problem previously so I went through the requeted procedure as best as I could remember. At the end of it, I'm still having problems clicking on links. I keeps looking lik it wants to bring up a page from www.thefeedwater.com and I still have a red background on my screen.

I included both sets of logs from the tests I ran previously to see if it's anything I missed the 1st time. Thanks!

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

You need to delete all of the log file you have and only attach what we request. We do not want you to put things into your own zip file. Please only attach what we ask for. However a bigger problem is that you are not running the current version of any of the tools so your current logs are really not that useful to us. You need to uninstall SUPERAntiSpyware and install the current version and make sure you update as stated in the instructions. You also need to update Malwarebytes, ComboFix and MGtools to the current versions. All new logs need to be attached.

Here are the logs from the updated versions of the tools, as you requested.

You still do not have the current version of MGtools. Did you download it from the link in the cleaning procedure. If so, how long ago. You are using a version from 08/17/2009 You must always use the current version available in the cleaning procedure. You should not be saving old copies which is why we have you remove them when we finish. Based on your logs you saved it to your Desktop (which is the wrong location) and have not downloaded the current version since you have a version from August
    Code:
    "C:\Documents and Settings\Compaq_Owner\Desktop\"
    mgtools.exe Aug 27 2009 1344235 "MGtools.exe"

Uninstall the below old versions of software:
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 10
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 8

Now we need to use ComboFix
    • Make sure that combofix.exe that you downloaded while doing the READ & RUN ME is on your Desktop but Do not run it!
      • If it is not on your Desktop, the below will not work.
    • Also make sure you have shut down all protection software (antivirus, antispyware...etc) or they may get in the way of allowing ComboFix to run properly.
    • If ComboFix tells you it has expired or need to be updated to a new version, make sure you allow it to update.
    • Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in the below quote box into it:
    • Save the above as CFscript.txt and make sure you save it to the same location (should be on your Desktop) as ComboFix.exe
    • At this point, you MUST EXIT ALL BROWSERS NOW before continuing!
    • You should have both the ComboFix.exe and CFScript.txt icons on your Desktop.
    • Now use your mouse to drag CFscript.txt on top of ComboFix.exe
    • Follow the prompts.
    • When it finishes, a log will be produced named c:\combofix.txt
    • I will ask for this log below
    Note:

Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

Now run Ccleaner. Only use the Run Cleaner button. Do not run anything else on any other forms.

Now download the current version of MGtools and save it to your root folder ( C:\MGtools.exe ---- not your Desktop )

Run MGtools.exe ( Note: If using Vista make sure UAC is still disabled. Also don't double click on it, use right click and select Run As Administrator )

    Now attach the below log:
    • C:\ComboFix.txt
    • C:\MGlogs.zip
Make sure you tell me how things are working now!
