Infomercials

What do you think of infomercials? They drive me crazy and I refuse to watch them. I will often fall asleep watching tv and wake up to these annoying shows. It aggravates me that that is the majority of shows on in the late night and early morning. Some are not half hour shows but are snuck in with commercials during regular tv shows. :mad
I saw one of these short infomercials recently regarding Kinoki foot pads. They were claiming that you could wear these pads on the bottom of your feet at night and they would remove toxins in your body while you sleep. I thought that was nuts but I was curious to what people were saying about them so I googled it. When I did this I went to a link where people were talking about them. This link was to a forum where one of the members had asked the question ”Do Kinoki Foot Pads work?”.
The forum went on an on with mostly first time posters to the site talking about the foot pads. Some were saying how great they where and one was claiming to be a chemist who had tested the pads, others where dogging people posting and calling them names for spelling errors. rolleyes
I guess people where googling the pads, finding this forum and joining it just to comment on this one thread. I didn’t pay any attention to what kind of forum it was until one of the forum members posted: “Ummmm.......since when did all the dorks commando our PURSE FORUM?? Where did you people come from???? Can you please take your egos elsewhere???”
It’s a purse forum? I found that really funny!
Another member posted “I find it hilarious that all of these people joined this forum just to argue for or against these ridiculous pads.” There was a first time post of “I think these foot pads are an excellent idea (speaking as a student of ancient Japanese reflexology), I just don't understand why their website is called the Purse Forum... very confusing!” At least one of the purse forum people thought they were serious! Another first time poster was going into great detail describing their bowel moments after using a colon cleaning form of detoxing. I don’t give a diddly about purses but I thought about joining the forum just because while reading the thread I have not laughed that hard in a long time!LOL

If the Major Geeks forum gets hijacked because I used the name of the foot pads, please delete this thread immediately!

So what do you think about Infomercials?

 

I seen that. Was thinking they should wash their feet before going to bed.
I go to sleep with the tv on also. Ever notice how some of them sound at full volume? After midnight thats all that on any more. It's almost like when I was young and the stations would go off the air. Some should now

 

I think y'all are watching the wrong channels if you're getting informercials latenights.

There's a fabulous Steve Goodman song called Vegematic that addresses a man who falls asleep with his TV on and gets all sorts of stuff. It's pretty darn funny.

 

Funny stuff! You sound like an insomniac! (Maybe you should load DVD's if staying up lateLOL) As for Infomercials - rarely watch/catch them...odd times I have, they sound okay, but then usually switch off before I reach for that phone

TV timer is your friend here. If you wake up when the TV turns, off, reapply.

 

I don't watch much TV anymore - but I hate infomercials - or, their official designation - "program length advertisements" . . . . grrrr

I especially despise the ones that say "But you must call in the next ten minutes to get this fabulous deal!" Are there people really that gullable? rolleyes

 

Every night for over a year on spike tv at 4am the same infomercial plays over and over and over "Girls Gone Wild" oh how about the channels that run the Male enhancement stuff over and over all night. Makes me sick i am so tired of seeing them dang things. it seems like clock work when that time hits during the shows at night all you start seeing is Viva Viagra and extenze is designed to make you larger (ahhhhh that damn ad is on now..) and so on so fourth you can't get away from them.

 

Part of it is that they're only allowed to show those commercials at certain times. Another part is that rates are a LOT cheaper at night, so they can get more spots for less money.

Don't have a Flowbie, but I know what they are...

sibeer, it is a combination suction and hair cutting device. I would not go near one...
