I can't find the setting anywhere in Infopath 2003 to change the default working directory. I was able to find it in Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access...but not in Infopath. I haved searched and searched and can't find anything.

I want to change it so when I go to save or load a file it will load the directory "H:\"

Anyone have any ideas where I go about changing it?

Doesnt seem as if you can, I had a quick look at the Office Support site and others but no mention of being able to change this Default Work Folder location as you can in other office apps.

I dont have Office 2003 installed now as I have 2007, so couldnt try some things, did look for registry locations that could be changed but again found nothing of interest and did look through technet and the office NG.

I was able to figure it out, apparently by default all the Office programs want to save files or open files in the My Documents folder.

What I ended up doing in my case is making the target of the My Documents folder a Map Network Drive therefore files would autosyncronize.

If you want more of an explanation just let me know...

Yeah post the findings you have as it may help some, I have Office 2007 and can change default paths but office 2003 seems harder to do by default.

I was hoping to find a way to re-route it to my mapped network drive "H:\"; however, Microsoft did not make this possibly for Intopath, I was able to find the option in Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint, OneNote...everything but Infopath.

From everything me and my friend were able to find online, the Microsoft Office suite, by default, wants to open and save documents into your My Documents folder.

The fix: If you right-click on your My Documents folder and go to the properties of it, you can change its target path.

The target path is the directory where the My Documents folder stores its files. By default in Windows XP its stored in "C:\Documents and Settings\Username\My Documents".

By changing the target path to "H:\", whenever the My Documents folder is loaded it Automatically syncs it with my mapped network drive.

Anything done in the My Documents folder syncs with the "H:\" Drive and vise versa.

    Hope this helps...

AH cool, cheers for that, will likely help a few others searching for same fix.
