Looking at monitors and found 2 with identical specs except for the connectors as follows.

    -15pin D-Sub & DVI-D connector
    -15pin D-Sub & DVDI-D connector
I know that the 15pin is standard analog and the other is digital but I'm lost after that.

Have found a good explanation on the DVI-D but can find nothing that explains the details about a DVDI-D connector.

What is the difference and is one better than the other?

    TIA!:)

Thanks for the reply insomniac! I'm still a tad confused though on which way to go here...maybe it's this killer headache or maybe it's just one of those things that's not sinking in:eek:

The monitors I'm looking at come with the DVI-D or the DVDI-D connector along with the standard analog but I would prefer to go with the digital. My vid card has the 15pin analog which I'm using now and the DVI-I connector so...am I correct in thinking that neither one of the above will work with my vid card?

they will. i think what insomniac is trying to say is that both will support pure digital outputs, which is exactly what you're looking for. basically, if it's a computer lcd monitor you're looking at, and you have dvi out on your video card, then it'll work.

Thanks Strogg:)..but with the difference in the connectors..mine having the 4 pin off to the side and the dvi-d having the single flat pin in the center I assume I would need a female (dvi-d) to male (dvi-i) adaptor to get it all hooked up and then I'd be good to go?
