I've just bought a 240gb SSD and I'm a bit confused by the different colour data sockets

T ere is a white one and an orange one free and 2 blue ones taken by the HD and DVD drives

I don't want to plug in the SSD without knowing which socket to use

Naturally, once inserted I will transfer the OS ro the SSD and use the HD for docs, photos etc

If someone could guide me through the process I'd be very grateful

I cant see any markings on the motherboard but attatched a pic of the sticker

I have an hp 8000 elite convertible mini tower. CMT. Don't let the name fool you! It's huge. it has 5 sata ports probably like yours. A blue, lite blue, orange and white. Off to the end of these is a black sata port. I have 3 drive bays and 2 cd/dvd bays along with 4 front usb ports, 6 back usb ports and 2 available usb port on the motherboard. Wkeen I first started populating it with drives, when it started up ity would flash a pop up saying ' use the light blue and white port before using the dark blue or orange'. I might have the color order mixed up but I can look if you have need. The drives in mine are still in placed but disconnected at this time. If your system is similar it will gracefully let you know if you need to re-arrange the connections. I wound up placing the dvd to the black, off by itself port and used the remaining in the order the pop-up suggested.

Try the white port. If, for some reason, it doesn't work, try the orange port.

    Thanks to those who responded
    I used the white port
Once I've transferred the OS to the SSD I'll ptobably swapit with the HDD and plug the HDD to where the DVD is and use the white one for the DVD
    I hope that makes sense
Now I must choose a good free program for transferring the OS
I'm wondering if there is a way to transfer the OS leaving the programs and data as they are on the HDD
