Inspiron 1525 Dell Laptop Problems

    Hi ive had this laptop for a little over a year now
    about 2~3 months ago my little brother was on this laptop when it suddenly stopped charging
    i have no idea wats going on with it the only problem with the charger is tht its slightly frayed on the part hooking to the laptop
    i have no idea if anyonee could help witht his situation id greatly appreciate it

    Is the computer usable when you plug it in or has it been off for 2 - 3 months?
    Have you removed the rechargeable battery and tried to use it on just electricity?

    its been off for the 2~3 months due to no battery power
    and yes i have tried running it on electricity alone

    So it doesn't work with the battery removed and plugged into an outlet?

    If that is the case and it shows no signs of life, then the motherboard or cpu could be bad.

    If it has been unplugged for 2 to 3 months, the button battery probably needs replacing but that should not prevent it from turning on.

    is there anyway to fix this problem without replacing the computer or buying any new parts?
    if not i still have a year left on its warranty should i jsut take it back to replace the entire laptop?

    My uncle said tht his father is good with laptop chargers and frayed cords i think im going to let him look at it thanks for all ur help
