   Dear Forum,
   In the past, it has been recommended to uncheck the "Linkscanner" box when installing AVG Anti-Virus.
   
   Is that still the current majority recommendation, to NOT install Linkscanner?
   
   I found differing opinions and am confused.
   
   Win 7 64 bit system

   If you have a newer faster PC with lots of memory, it may be less of an issue for you than for some other people with older slower non-dual or non-quad core processors and also less than 2 GB of memory.
   
   Give it a try with Linkscanner enabled. If your PC in general or just surf seems to slow down too much, then try without Linkscanner.
