Installation of Photoshop

Hello everybody,

I've got PS CS3 programme on a CD, but I tried to upload it to my new laptop and it doesn't work. At first it sent the error message "installation impossible because the Adobelinguistic.dll file is missing". Then I downloaded that file but it doesn't help, if I try to install it begins with the initialisation but then says "put in the software CD" when it's never been removed, but for some reason the PC can't find it. I tried to copy the programme from the CD to a pendrivem and I saved the lingusitic.dll file into the same folder but it doesn't help.
Any idea?

The new laptop has Windows 7, the old one had Windows XP.

I'm running PS CS3 on my laptop with Win 7 Ultimate. It's never given me any issues whatsoever.

 

Plodr, Laura, Waylandcool - thanks for your answers, I'll look through all those pages and try to fix it. If I doesn't manage, the other solution would be to calibrate my old laptop's monitor, that's why I started the whole thing... Cuz if I look at photos here, I see a totally different picture than at another PC's monitor (or if printed out in a photolabor). The coulours are much stronger on this one (old) but if I download a calibration scale from white - grey - black I do can see the difference between all, so don't know how to fix that either. *sigh* But I'll try PS on the other and if it doesn't go, I'll come back to MajorGeeks forum and ask you guys about calibration...
