Installed 2nd CD-ROM, now 1st won't show up

    Like the title said, I just got a DVD burner, set the jumper to slave, installed it, and now it's the only drive that shows up. The other drive still has power and everything, but it won't read.

    This is on WindowsXP... the two drives are on the same cable, etc. Pretty standard setup.

    Nevermind.. apparently I had my old CD burner set to slave this whole time, because when I switched the new one to master they both work now. :p

    funny how its always the small things we over look... my normal one when building a PC is to forget the power connector from the case!

    just pays to double check when it doesnt work ;)
