Installer Or Portable?

This may have been asked already, but what is the best option? Install software, or use the portable version if available?

 

Yes personal choice. If you are satisfied with the program's performance, and what it can (or can't) do, permanent install may well be the most stable version; you have to consider how easy it wold be to get updates, as well. The dantage to the "portable" version is you might be able to use it on more than one computer, but along with the time required to get the software to start from a "portable" operation, is there are still considerations about the number of computers (1-infinity, actually) you can actually run the software; some will leave a low level "key" to allow only a small number of portable installs before it causes problems, the lesat of which is not allowing the software to run again on some of your computers.
