   Periodically, I get pop-up messages saying that InstallFlashPlayer.exe would like to access the internet. I always block this and there don't appear to be any negative affects on my system but I am curious as to what this file is. Can anyone help?

   It's the update for Adobe FlashPlayer. By not installing the updates, you could be running out of date versions that could:
   

   • Be security risks
   • That may not be able to support some websites that require specific versions of flash player

   Do note however there are ( like with some other programs ) fake versions too.
