installing framework 3.5 fails

when i try to install framework 3.5 i get :

Ahhhhhhhh..............look (read) the last two lines.

It says that .net framework 2 is NOT installed.

Updates to .net Framework should be done in sequence.

3.5 updates 3.0, etc.

Give that a try and see if your results aren't better.

I carry all the updates on my own Utilities CD and when updating a customer with, say, .net 1.0, I first install 2.0, then 3.0 and finally 3.5.
I've never seen that fail to work OK.

Just a thought.
