Installing Java

Ok, I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I seen "Java" in the description, so I assumed it'd be alright.

I'm running WinXP, with Service Pack 2, and for whatever reason, I can't get Java to download. I've tried to install it right from the webpage, and download it manually, yet neither work. I'm really in need of Java, and it's becoming quite irritating not being able to get it. I've spent hours trying to figure it all out, and I can't seem to.

I'm hoping somewhere here can tell me how to get Java installed. If anyone knows, help would be much appreciated.

 

... Or maybe tell me a better forum to post this in?

I was pretty tired last night when I posted, so here's some more information.

The download starts, and then completely stops a few second later. I've heard it could be because of SP2, but I don't understand how. Again, any help would be much appreciated... even if it's just pointing me in a direction where someone can help me out.
