Installing Multi DVD Rewriter ?

Ok, ive givin up on trying to fix prob with my dvd rom- drive missing, tried all suggestions on forum, microsoft hardware advisor update etc couldn't solve problem other to report that my dvd drive could be corrupt gave error report but no help to me. Anyway have purchased new Super Multi DVD Rewriter 18x (L.G). My ? is - i havn't installed one before and looking at instructions seems reasonably straight forward but if anyone has any tips i should know i'd appreciate it. Once again thanks to all those suggestions on trying to fix rom. Well, here goes my attempt, where tha hell that cable come from confused ummm...... i think ive got it..... Installing a DVD is easy. If it shares a data cable with another drive, be sure the drive attached to the end of the cable is set for master, and the drive attached to the middle cable connector is set to slave.
That's about the only slightly confusing thing you'll have to deal with.
