Installing new Graphics card

Recently my Geforce 8800 GTX graphics card fried which was thoroughly disappointing. However I have just purchased a brand new Geforce GTX570 HD card and looking forward to testing it out.

Since I'm pretty new at dealing with hardware, I didn't want to mess up my computer by just shoving the card in and going with it so I looked up the process to install a new card. After a bit of research I found that I can potentially cause problems if I try installing a new card without removing the old video cards drivers. As my old card is done and I have no way to hook up a monitor to my desktop I can't remove the old drivers. I would love some advise as to what I should do.

Also I read that I also might need to disable onboard pci devices in the bios before fully installing the card. It said some bios`s do that automatically and I`m not sure if mine does or not. I have a Nvidia Nforce 680i SLI and the bios is Phonix (unsure of the version but it has not been updated).

since you cant really uninstall, I would just go ahead and do it because you have the same brand (nvidia) . It should boot up, and then to be safe, uninstall the old drivers, then install the new ones.

If that doesn't work, you should be able to boot into safe mode, and run driver sweeper to remove anything nvidia related, VIDEO only tho, since you have an nforce mobo.

then boot into normal mode, and for kicks, run sweeper again, reboot, and install the new drivers.
