Installing Windows apps on Flash Drive?

I'd like to install some Windows applications on a 2 GB flash drive -- so that I can run those apps on several different PCs... Windows 2000, Windows XP... for example.

Can it be done? Will the registry settings -- on the original machine -- pointing to those apps on the flash drive -- be unavailable on other PCs, and thus cause trouble when trying to run the apps on the other systems?

Does this idea make sense, and are there any warnings about trying to do this, or tricks to make it work?

You can do it. Best for standalone apps that don't need installers.

However, if you want a fullblown application, you would need to reinstall it on every computer, to get the registry entries updated.
