    Hello

I have an old laptop which is an asus eee pc 4G

The onboard soldered hard drive is only 4 GB which is enough to install windows xp but very limited.
Due to this i rather install the operating system on an SD card.

this small laptop uses special pata pci hard drives which are very expensive so its not conveninet or ideal to buy one of those to put windows xp. Since i have many sd cards ranging from 32 gb -256 gb i rather use one of those.

However when i run the windows xp sp3 professional 32 bit disc and try to install it on the sd card it doesn't seem to let me. It just says that the hard drive / drive is not formatted properly . I move on to delete the partition on the SD card and create a new NTFS parition but it keeps saying the same thing.

Is it NOT possible to install windows xp on the SD card? If it is can someone advise how?

Please note i am NOT trying to boot an installation through an SD card, i am trying to install the WHOLE operating system of windows xp into an sd card.

    any advice is appreciated

    thanks

You can't install Windows XP on a SD card.
