installing XP pro to multiple computers?

ok, so im not 100% sure on this, so i figured id ask...can a single CD key for windows XP be used on like 2 computers? i got a full version of windows xp pro for one of my computers a while back..well, i just built a new computer basically, but i want to do a fresh install...the CD key is already in use on one computer, but is it possible to use the key on a second comp and not have any issues???

I heard that if it was in the same household with the same owner, you could have the same key on one desktop PC and one laptop PC...... is this a big pile of :crap or what???????????
