My Int Exp11 is very slow.I have been away for 1wk with computer turned on and when I returned it was like this. Some of the sites I usually visit will not display.I have run CCleaner, SuperAntiSpyware, Avg Antivirus , chkdsk/r.and reset Int Exp manually, no bugs in anything. Neither can I bring up Browsers section on Major Geeks to try another one. But, I would prefer to keep Int Exp as I am so familiar with it and I am OAP
Specs,Win7. Hope you can advise on this. Boneyeye

I imagine the computer has been rebooted :-D

Did it just update to IE 11 while you were away? Have you tried IE in safe mode?

Open a run box and key in iexplore -extoff. If it behaves better in safe mode you have an add on that is giving you grief.

It may also be compatibility issues with some of the sites that aren't loading at all.

rebooting did not solve anything I downloaded IE11 i think myself in mid june but it is not in my downloads . IE is running with no add-ons. Now the same thing is happening to my laptop which is connected wirelessly to same broadband network. When I am in safemode I have no Int Connection, no volume, no AVG. Thank you for replying Cosman25. Boneyeye

Hi, TU again for replying but I could not download any of your recommendations, but I noticed that there was not as much activity as usual on my modem so I contacted my network supplier who said that there was no problem with my Broadband but that my modem is quiet old . They are sending me a new one Fast Fibre so when that is installed I will let you know how things are. TU for help so far. Boneyeye

Hi, since I have been here I have found out that both my neighbours on my right and left were both having the same problems with their computers and, are served by the same network. The day after I phoned up the network everything is ok. Nothing wrong with my computer or either of my neighbours. So I will leave you to decide for yourselves what was wrong. The new modem arrived but it will stay in its box until I need it. "If it aint broke don't fix it" is an old and true saying. There is now plenty of activity signs on my modem. I would like to thank you for your help knowing that there is nothing in the past that you have not solved for me. Where would we be without Major Geeks Kind regards to all until the next time which I hope will not be soon. Boneyeye
