Having a week off work, I had 3 weeks of vacation time still to take, so this is week 1, rest is getting taken at Easter. Good time to catch up on jobs and tasks I have put off, delayed, not wanted to do and need to do!

One thing that has been rattling around in my head has been interactive mapping or for me demographic data on eye disease and socio economic factors and the link we are know is there, just wanted to look at data I have for local usage for future planning.

Did go down the route of manually drawing a postcode (ZIP) map of the city and not elegant at all, been looking around and came across this CartoDB some really neat maps and this one I've been looking at over most of today http://photogrammar.yale.edu/map/ some awesome photos of towns and cities in the USA, likely many of you live in or know these places.

Don't really need any suggestions as I just wanted to highlight that site and some really great maps and data.

David when I check the website I zoom in on a location where it has dots for pictures but I don't see pictures. Any ideas why?

I got no pictures on one (it said NA at the top which I take it means not available) but on another when I click it gives me the photographer's name and then I click Explore these photos and another tab opens with pictures.

What version of Windows? Browser? Addons?
I had to allow a few things in noscript.

Win8.1, IE 11, and Shockwave is the only addons.

Great stuff...have bookmarked the links. Did some random selections. Will now dip into it as it's interesting to see glimpses of history around the world.

    Thanks!

    Hi Kat

I use Firefox Nightly and no addons apart from what it has in the way of media addons and only one active is Shockwave. Yes on that picture one around the USA, there are sadly no pictures for all counties, choose a green shaded one and click and it will tell you how many pics in that area.

Thanks for those Eldon, always good to give me ideas, imapbuilder looks good but work will not pay for it just to have me "tinker" with an idea I may never get chance to finish, more a pet project at present, did come across a nice add-on for Office Excel (2013 or later) https://store.office.com/en-GB/people-graph-WA104104476.aspx?assetid=WA104104476 always can use a chart that has this type of people icons for use then in a powerpoint.

Some pretty cool shots from a town near me. Sort of a take on Google's option for show imagery but with old shots.
