Intel 440BX Chipset AGP Controller Disabled

    Have tried several times to resolve this
    OS Win 98 SE
    Chipset Intel 440BX
    I have used Everest to check system
    It states AGP Controller Disabled.
    I have checked the device manager which shows the Chipeset to AGP as being installed.
    I have also installed the latest .inf files from Intel.
    But still the AGP Controller is shown as disabled.

    Have you gone into the BIOS to see if the AGP controller is enabled, instead of the pci?

    Yes the BIOS is set to AGP.
    I have also downloaded the lasted .inf files from intel.
    BUT the controller is still shown as Disabled in Everest
