Intel Core 2 Duo

I've got an intel core 2 duo E6300 processor. I heard i could overclock it and then it would perform like it was the more expensive E6700. if thats true, how would i go about doing that?

 

also i cant get to overclock setting in BIOS so i tried the ClockGen but i cant figure out what PLL i have...

I think that some Core 2 Duos Allendales/Conroes (excluding extreme) aren't overclockable, and some are. Also, some you can change the Multiplier, as well as the FSB.

But maybe I was just dreaming...

 

dude i have an e6400 just a step up a bigger step :-D i win! lol jk jk...but yeah man they overclock mad.Now listen to me okay? get zalman ill give u the link http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835118019 this is the best u can get for air cooling.and get artic silver for ur paste.the paste alone dropped me to 7-10c.with the gay paste i had before and the crap for the stock fan haha i had 52 c-60 on load.now with the paste i dropped to 42-43 c and 46 on load.then i bought this zalman and i dropped to 28c and overlocked and ide at 40 and 50 on load at 3.2 ghz .and man i dont even have that many fans and what not! these things kick.I could easily get this thing up to 3.4 without hitting 55 c i just dont wanna take the risk of the burning it up.

 

Core 2 Duos have amazing o/cing potential.
