Esata port on Quad core machine don't see e sata drive Intel IHC9 p35 any ideas? usb works but, not seeing esata

 

Some more details would be helpful.... which version of Windows are you using? What is the exact model of the motherboard? Did the eSATA port work and then quit, or has it never worked? Is this a fresh clean Windows install?

 

Windows Vista Ultimate 64 E SATA has never worked its a gate way FX4710-UB003A Bios841P041g. Iwanted to store all pictures and videos from vacations on Sata 500 in external thermaltake max 4 usb works just fine but, even after instaling pci esata and plugging it into sata connections on board it can't see it

 

You said you installed a PCI eSATA card, is that right (hard to tell exactly from your lack of caps and punctuation). If you have access to another PC with eSATA, or you can try the PCI eSATA card in another PC, try the drive there. I have a feeling the eSATA port on the ThermalTake enclosure is no good. If the enclosure is fairly new, it should covered by warranty and you can return it....

 

Tried Esata, into machine with operating E Sata system , with no results at all, It was not found. And, after trying the E Sata external drive from another manufacturer, and, having my machine see it and,able to use it . The conclusion reached that the E Sata port is inoperable was correct, Thank You for your assistance.
