    Hi,

I have a problem with the Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG adapter in my HP DV1000 laptop. It isn't coming up in the network connections window, and in the device manager it has a code 10 error.

I have uninstalled and allowed windows xp sp2 to redetect - same problem once all done. I have also tried an Intel driver download for the device instead of a windows auto one. No luck.

This problem has only appeared since I fixed my laptop. It had a cracked LCD panel, and was sitting around hibernated (couldn't see to shut down) for about 3 months until I managed to find a new panel. During this time I removed the wireless card to get access to a cable to remove the old panel. Could this cause the problem?

    Hi

    Options are:

    1. When you removed the wireless card, it was not re-connected fully, so double check its connection as IIRC the wireless cable antennae goes around the edges of the LCD.

    2. Did you at all re-install the OS when you chnaged the panel? just thinking that the drivers maybe missing or corrupt so to this I would advise re-installing the Intel Chipset drivers and the Network Drivers ( WLAN Utility Installer (Broadcom/Intel) for Windows XP ) and all drivers found her http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=228&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=435618&lang=en

hi, have tried all those drivers and nothing improves the problem. Am loathe to reinstall XP, as I have all my settings for various programs perfected..... any other suggestions?

Listen to Halo, when you replaced the screen, there is a small wire that has a screw to hold it down, this has to be connected for your antenna to function. ed

Oh ok i didnt realise he was saying that. I thought he meant check the card is slotted in correctly which i did. I will remove the screen and have a look. Would no antenna mean the device wouldnt be able to start as in a code 10?
