I have an Intel DQ965GF mobo w/ sigmatel onboard audio. Intel website says that the board has HD audio. I am using an Antec Performance One series case which I believe has AC'97 audio, not HD. I tried to use the jumber block and using the individual jumpers to confiigure the Front Panel audio. Neither work correclty. Intel says that it won't work, you have to have a case w/ HD audio pinouts on it. I tried a work around that Intel suggested but with to no avail. The front panel output works, but the input (microphone) doesn't. The sigmatel cntrl panel says that it is recognised and working, but nothing happens when I plug in the mic. I have tried different mic's with the same result. The rear input works just peachy. The sigmatel auto detect comes right up.

I could have sworn that it all worked in WinXP. My customer chose to upgrade to Vista and now all is screwy. I also can't find an internal PCI modem w/ vista drives either. I tried the creative labs modem blaster, and also a Diamond modem and neither work. Diamond got pissy with me when I asked them aboot driver support. But that is another post...sorry for rambling...

ANy thoughts on this? Or is it just one of those issues where it won't work.

Well, after talking w/ intel, sigmatel (absolutely worthless support, might as well throw sh** at a tree for all the help they are) and antec my customer is screwed at the moment. The Antec Performance One case series only has Analog audio, the Intel DQ965GF has HD audio onboard, and the Sigmatel Audio drivers won't do any type of conversion in Vista to allow the front panel mic to work. XP allowed for it to work just fine. So, my client will go back to XP. ALso we couldn't get his Creative Labs PCI modem blaster to work in Vista either....THAT IS PATHETIC M$ come get your head out of your Vista and wake up.

Sorry for the rant....Vista is causing way more probs than solutions for my clients that own business'. I have come to the point where i will flat out tell people that Vista is not Business compatible and barely home compatible. At least for now. Maybe things will change in about 6 months.
