Interesting Observation on The Forums

I recently have been seeing political banner adds here. Is it just me, or is it odd that political discussions are kinda frowned upon, but most sites actually like for the members to discuss the stuff advertised?

At least the banner ads aren't as bad as the political robo-calls I'm getting about every three hours. rolleyes

Interesting that I could not really make a thread about the adds I get here. So, the members are more regulated than the ads. Interesting.

 

Two things I never discuss with people I want to continue talking to are religion and politics.

 

Yeah, because an Ad is just that - an advertisement.You either read it - or like most of us - NOT, (except you, of course ). A "discussion" rarely remains that. It mostly devolves into emotive B.S. That's why it aint here anymore - but then, you already knew that.

Hmm, when I'm looking at Corel products alot I see alot of Corel ads. When I researched faster internet providers in my area I started seeing more internet provider ads. Seems to me that if you're seeing a lot of political ads, maybe that's because you visit/debate on a lot of politics websites?

 

That's Google Adsense. It knows you. It knows where you live. It knows who you're considering voting for. And Google does not approve.

Shame....

Strange...I always get the conservative ones.

It looks like, in both our cases, Google Adsense doesn't have a clue. :-D

100% fact. I hardly ever talk about those subjects because you can never change someones mind. No matter the facts you present it doesn't matter. Well the same goes with me, no one could change my mind...

Exactly, Google wants you to go to the other side of the line. Google wants the status quo. Google will have the status quo.

Yea, just thinking about the 100% and opinion and if I've ever had a a opinion about something I wasn't 100% sure on. Like right now I am not 100% sure that I am 100% on that subject. Wait, my ears are gonna start bleeding....
