internal crap for my dell?

hey all. little bit of a n00b here, but i had a couple questions. i have a kindof new dell 4600 desktop. got it last august. quick specs are a P4 2.8, 512mb ram, a very badass ati radeon 9800 pro graphics card my brother (wally0311 in this forum) got me, 80gb harddrive, 5.1 sound card, and a dvd+rw burner and a normal cd reader.

now my questions:

1. what sort of things should i be looking at for an extra internal harddrive. im thinking something >80gb for my music, movies, and what not. i dont even really know what type of hookup they have to be, or anthing for that matter.

2. pretty much the same thing except with ram. im looking to upgrade to >1gb of ram. do dell's come with 1 stick of 512, or is it like 2 sticks of 256. do i even have room? what type of ram should i look at?
