Seen the price for Google stock lately? :D

Lots of companies make money "on" or with the internet. But yes, it was designed to be a broad based basically free medium. Although "free" is relative. Either fee-based (like part of what you pay your ISP) or advertising revenue based funds basically pays for it.

First of all, the Internet (spelled with a capital I, by the way) has been around for a lot longer than 10 years.

Second of all, with that signature, it would appear you know quite well how to make money on the Internet.

    Go somewhere else.

The sig is useless...it's been altered; piggybacking off MG is not in a users' best interest ;)

What I mean is that it's not mass consumerism any more. I mean the other media like the movies made a ton of money cuz you bought a ticket.
Google is not really selling anything. I know they make a lot of money with the services they are offering, bu still.
Besides people dowload somuch that ist has become a problem for the mainstream industry.

telecommunications companies make fortunes, and just because the dot-com era is thankfully over doesn't mean that services aren't still being sold.
    I'm an e-pimp too!

I'd say completly the opposite, serious money is being made in e-consumerism opposed to the highstreet/shoping malls, the current trend for online shopping is growing at a massive rate, just take eBay, Amazon, Microsoft, Apple ( iTunes ), Google ( I included Google as they as you said yourself selling services, like Advertising and corporate search hardware/software is selling a product ) and no end of retailers have online shopping arms to augment their analogue stores.

great example.... Skype a media company thats only 2yrs old, just sold to eBay for $2.6 billion.... I'd say a very lucrative medium is the internet :)

You only have notice that the older media companies are now slowly embracing the internet as a new source of revenue, as their older forms are slowly dieing, in this age we have no need to buy a ticket, wait in line, be told it's sold out....

It's Al Gore's fault. After all, he invented the the internet 10 years ago. ;)

I guess the stuff we were doing 30 years ago was something completely different. Must have been "Pre-Internet" :D
