Firefox does not support XP any longer so that's probably why you are having issues with it. IMO it's still the browser to beat for later systems, though Win 10's built-in MS Edge is pretty slick - assuming your new laptop has Win 10.

firefox been doing that even when it still supported it in xp. I have win 8.1 on new laptop but if its good with 8.1 i' use it.

Problems with any browser are rarely, if ever, to do with their internal coding, or their compatibility with an Operating System unless it specifically states no compatibility. Browsers like Firefox use profiles and the bulk of problems arise out of the profile data itself, or issues with plug ins like Flash, for example.
I've never had any issues to speak of with Fx on any system, and especially not Vista, 7, 8.1 or, now, Win 10. For me it's lightening fast on 8.1 and 10. I still have a 13 year old system with XP - not used much I admit - and Firefox works fine but it's 13 years old hardware and only 2gb ram so is much slower and will freeze at times. The script and plug in issues happen occasionally on all OSs.

How much RAM you have in the desktop? If you can up the RAM, that will help ALOT...

i been using ie in new laptop with win 8 and its fast.

I have another question about charging new laptop i used without it been plugged up so when it was at 28% left and started to charge it and the screen was bright while using it . I charged it to it got 100% fully charged. waited less than an hour and unplugged it. the screen was a little dark afterwards and then it got to 99% charged. What i want to know how long to charge the battery for lenovo laptop, and do i have to change power settings and brightness?

If your screen dims a little on battery (or on power) look for two adjacent F keys having a sun icon on them, one with an up arrow and the other a down arrow. On my Lenovo ThinkPad they are F7 and F8. There isn't any set time for recharging a depleted battery, you can connect or disconnect the power cable whenever you like. The icon in the system tray will tell you the state of your battery.

ok when i use the f7 and f8 keys will this just be a temporary solution ? or can i go in settings for a permanent change? oh also when i have the charger in the screen is really, really bright, and when battery is charged and i unplug it the screen goes dark . I ask how to charge battery for new laptop because when i use it i have to always charge it later . ex. i use it unplugged within an hour it starts to get lower and will need to be charged later

Your Lenovo probably has the built-in Lenovo utilities for adjusting system settings but I can't help with those as I dispensed with them a long time ago. However you could try adjusting the brightness, both when on power and on battery, by going into Control Panel > Power Options. Put it on Balanced and click Change plan settings and on the next screen Change advanced power settings. On the next screen go down to Display and open up Display brightness where you can try different settings for both battery and plugged in. Settings in F7/F8 should be permanent but computers being computers....

If you are only getting an hour's use out of a charge that's not good, you ought to be able to get three at least, but this is heavily affected by your power settings, especially if you have large screen so maybe this is something you can improve with a little testing. If not then the battery may have to be replaced soon, unless you can run mostly with it plugged in.
