    Hi,

About 2 days ago I noticed that my laptop would suddenly say it had no access to the internet through the wireless network. If I disconnected and then re-connected it would work for a few hours and then it would come up with the same yellow triangle over the wireless connection and said connected but with no internet access. It got progressively worse and now I can stay connected for around a minute or two. However when I hook up the ethernet connection everything works fine.

I did the READ & RUN FIRST and have included the logs that are requested.

    Thanks,

    B

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

Your logs show internet connectivity is just fine. There is no malware showing. The only item I question is what the below startup is for. Do you know?

    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [ALconnect] C:\Users\Nancy\AppData\Roaming\DirectLife\ALconnect\ALconnect.exe

It shows in your installed programs as the below

I honestly have no clue, does not sound like anything familiar. New update. Along with no internet access, when trying to open IE it is closing it self.

Are you positive??? ALconnect is short for "ActiveLink Connect" which you have installed? If you still do not know what it is then uninstall it .

Does not seem to be a malware issue since your logs a clean. Try booting in safe mode with networking and see if you have internet access?
Also you have Chrome installed. Does it connect?

    Ok,

I when I went to uninstall the ActiveLink Connect I noticed that ARO 2012 (clean registry that downloaded somehow on to my computer) was still on there which I deleted awhile ago, and it was still showing up in the registry as well. I deleted that again, restarted my computer and it has been working fine since. I really do not remember downloading or installing anything with the name ActiveLink Connect.

Since everything appears to be working okay now after removing ARO, I would leave ActiveLink alone. I'm not positive what it is but it may be related to something with your hardware. Perhaps even for a wifi interface.

Since you are not having malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware.
    2. Go back to step 4 oof the READ ME and renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it.
    3. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis. If you don't see it or it will not uninstall, don't worry about it. Just move on to the next step.
    4. If running Vista or Win 7, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click ( if running Vista, Win7, or Win 8 Right Click and Run As Administrator ) on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    6. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    7. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
