I do not have any issues with using IE 6 128 bit with XP Pro but is it advisable to install IE 7 for a particular reason?

    Hi m79

If IE6 is working fine for you then thats good, but IE7 does add more security updates to IE as IE6 is not supported now with these types of updates, so main reason for updating is security.

At work we are very concious to how software interacts with older systems and new, so many MSFT updates get a full workout on test systems first, IE7 passed as did XP SP3 with flying colours so are now being implemented on all 6000+ PCs in the building that have XP on them.

I would run a System Restore point before updating to IE7 and also make sure any toolbars, addons like Flash & Shockwave, Quicktime, Java are all updated too as those are the main sticking points to IE7 not working properly in some instances
