Internet Explorer 7 - Downloading Problem

Hi there,

I am having a problem with Internet Explorer 7. I am using Windows Vista, and everything came pre-installed as it is a new laptop. I can download files as normal except when I try to download my lectures from WebCT (an online learning system). As you can imagine this is a bit of an issue! When I click on the link to a lecture, it simply throws me out and back to the hompage of WebCT. So, I tried right-clicking and selecting 'Save target as...'. However, a pop-up window appears with the message as follows: "Internet Explorer cannot download. No such interface supported"
What on earth does that mean?!

Any ideas on how to fix this would be appreciated. If you need any other information just ask!

Hi Lauren

It is possible that the training site is not Vista or IE7 compatible, check with Admin of site if this is the case, I know one training site for me via my gov dept is not Vista compat.

But also update your JAVA http://www.majorgeeks.com/Sun_Java_Runtime_Environment_d4648.html

and also try re-regsitering these two dlls.

Click Start > in the Start Search box type CMD and when it shows in the list right click it and choose Run as Administrator ( as they likely need elevated permissiosn to register correctly ) then type int he CMD window at the prompts in turn

regsvr32 actxprxy.dll [hit enter]
regsvr32 shdocvw.dll [hit enter]

see if it now works?
