Internet Explorer is being moronic again...

Alright, i made a yahoo email account on their website, and after the account was made, it automatically installed the yahoo toolbar (couldnt stop it). Well, it said it was installed, but i dont see it anywhere, so i think thats a good thing?

Heres the problem, I can only have one internet explorer window open at a time!!! Every time i click the IE icon, it closes the one thats currently open, and opens a new one! Also, whenever i get a popup now, both the popup AND the IE window are closed!

Its really pissing me off... What can I do to fix this?

Check add/remove programs to see if you can remove the "hidden" toolbar.

 

If the tool bar does not show up in add-remove programs, maybe go into tools->internet options->program tab->manage add-ons (only a viable option if you have SP 2 for Windows installed), and disable any add-ons that say yahoo, or even any that have a fill name of "y<anthing>.dll". Close and reopen IE, and test. If that fails, or if the manage add-ons button is not there, go to tools->internet options->advanced tab, and uncheck "enable 3rd party browser extensions", and test.

 

Also, let not forget the basics: Tools->internet options->progams tab-> click "reset web settings", making sure you uncheck "also reset my home page" before clicking OK.

 

I did the reset settings/default thing and its working right again.
